Prayers

A Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi

Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace.
Where there is hatred, let us sow love.
Where there is injury, pardon,
Where there is doubt, faith,
Where there is despair, hope,
Where there is darkness, light,
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that we may not so much seek to be consoled,
As to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
And it is in dying that we are
Born to eternal life.

I pray that you may have renewed strength devoted to healing and recovery. May your spirit be strengthened along with the body, and we offer our thanks for the evidence of this progress. We pray for continued progress in these days to come and patience of heart during this time of healing. Amen.

Bless the memories that we treasure.
Bless the friendships that we share.
Bless the life that we celebrate.
Bless the peace that (name) has found.
And, Lord, bless our journey as we seek the friendship through the love you offer.
Amen.

Encouraging Thoughts

God has created us to do Him some definite service;
He has committed some work to us which He has not committed to another.
We have our mission
We are a link in a chain, a bond of connection between persons.

Therefore we will trust Him
Whatever, wherever we are,
We can never be thrown away.

If we are in sickness,
Our sickness may serve Him;

If we are in sorrow,
Our sorrow may serve Him.

He does nothing in vain,
He knows what He is about.

- John Henry Cardinal Newman

God does not send
More than we can bear,
Our hearts will mend
If we keep Him there.

After storms it grows calm,
Dark is followed by the sun,
We are held in Gods palm,
Love and faith make us one.

Although there are days
That bring trials and pain
Having faith in His ways
We will triumph again.

When we let go of fear,
Prayer and love make us strong.
Know that God will be near
To help guide you along.
