wound healing
For most of us, wounds heal gradually over time, without much thought. But for others, caring for a wound that won’t heal is an ongoing struggle. Those with diabetes, peripheral artery disease (PAD), pressure sores, burns, cellulitis, lymphedema, severe infections, lower extremity ulcers, or trauma are at particular risk for experiencing wounds that won’t seem to heal.
multidisciplinary team
The Wound Healing Center at St. Francis can help. Our multidisciplinary team consists of certified wound care physicians and general surgeons, as well as wound care nurses and physical therapists with certification in advanced wound care. Our team works collaboratively with vascular surgeons, orthopedic surgeons, plastic surgeons and other specialties as needed. We have expertise in caring for people with wounds that have resisted healing. We are up to date on the latest techniques and products to speed healing, and use a combination of advanced treatments that take into account the complex nature of chronic wounds. Our team works in partnership with the patient's primary care physician, keeping them informed of progress during the course of treatment.
